A 50% abv bottling of this popular and old bourbon brand. Willie Soke would approve. Old Grand-Dad is also the brand specified by Bond in Live and Let Die for his Old Fashioned in 1954, but that isn’t why this bourbon is “bonded”, of course. It was bottled in bond, meaning it has been aged and bottled according to certain US regulations including the fact that it’s from one distillery, has been aged for at least 4 years, and was bottled at 100 proof.

The original Old Grand-dad Bonded was a distiller named Basil Hayden who made his name by distilling a bourbon whiskey made with a higher percentage of rye. Basil Hayden passed along the art of distilling to his son and then, in turn, to his grandson. It was the third generation distiller, Colonel R.B. Hayden, who honored his grandfather by naming his justly famed whiskey “Old Grand-Dad.”
