Glenfarclas 17 Year Single Malt Scotch 750ml

-10%Glenfarclas 17 Year Whisky advocate, 90 points – weighty and deep. Instantly seductive: vanilla pod, rich fruits, the smell of fur coats. A femme fatale of a malt. A base of crisp malt mixes with oak to give balance and structure. Water brings out apple leaf, even a little grassiness. The palate is broad and balanced, with real sweetness and a tongue-coating quality that softens to dried fruit, earthy density, with a whiff of smoke. Redolent with the aroma of a dunnage warehouse.
Speyside, Scotland- Complex nose, with distinctive butterscotch, sherried fruit, and peat smoke aromas. Big and full-flavored with excellent balance. Develops slowly, full of sherry sweet malty tones, and a touch of peat smoke. Finishes long and smooth, with a hint of spice.
Glenfarclas is one of the few independent family-owned distilleries left in Scotland. Oh to be the heir of a family with some tens of thousands of barrels of quietly aging sherry-matured scotch to its name! Let’s hope they keep their heads above water and the dollar signs out of their eyes, lest we see another independent bite the dust.
A delicious, richly sherried Glenfarclas aged for 17 years and launched for the travel retail market. Loads of character and depth, just what we’ve come to expect from the distillery. A big, sherried 17-year-old whisky from Speyside stalwarts Glenfarclas. Rich and surprisingly good value.
Nose:
Complex and sophisticated, notes of buttery toffee, malt sherried peels, dates, and even a hint of peat!
Palate:
Full-bodied and rich, it fills and coats the palate with warming nutmeg, sherried fruits, cinnamon, and mixed peels.
Finish:
Long, spicy, and sweet with just a hint of smoke on the tail.
