Batch six of Balvenie Tun 1509 Batch series is a marriage of 21 casks, including refill sherry butts, ex-bourbon barrels and barrels previously used to finish Balvenie Double Wood, chosen by Malt Master David Stewart MBE. Each of these casks has been married in the Tun, which sits in warehouse 24, for three months before being bottled at the distillery. Rich aromas of soft brown sugar, toffee, blossom honey and ginger fill the nose, complimenting notes of maple syrup, candied orange, runny honey, vanilla and oak spice throughout the palate.
Batch 6 of Tun 1509 is a combination of 21 casks brought together in the Tun, which is maintained by the distillery’s team of on-site coopers and sits in Warehouse 24. The liquid was left to marry for three months before being bottled at the distillery.
It’s the sixth batch of Balvenie’s much-loved Tun 1509 series! This batch is a no age statement vatting of 21 casks from distillery, with a mixture of refill sherry butts, bourbon barrels and DoubleWood refill sherry butts. The Speysider was married in Tun 1509 for three months before bottling at 50.4% ABV. If you are so inclined, the presentation tube even comes with a breakdown of the 21 casks used to create the whisky, for your perusal.
Rich and intensely fruity on the nose. A spicy outburst on the palate, then sweetened with a deep sherry character. Lingering and luscious with dried fruit and elegant oaky notes on the finish.

Beautiful depth on the palate with a touch of maple syrup, candied orange and runny honey.
Sweet and malty on the finish alongside swathes of oak vanilla and a spicy layer.
