Dalwhinnie Distiller’s Vintage 2004 (2019 Edition) Scotch Whiskey
Dalwhinnie Distiller’s Vintage Whiskey is the highest distillery in Scotland, and one of the most remote. This “double matured” single malt whiskey is finished in oloroso-cask, and is released as part of the Distillers Edition series. This one was distilled in 2004 and bottled in 2019. A reliably delicious release from the Highland-based distillery. The Highland single malt was distilled in 2004 and went through a double maturation in Oloroso sherry casks, before bottling in 2019 in a limited release.
Diageo’s Distillers Edition series has garnered quite a reputation since its inception, owing wholly to the fine selection of malts that make the cut. This 15 year old expression from Dalwhinnie is certainly no exception, a crisp and uncomplicated 43% treasure with strong notes of walnut and cereal most evident.
