The Arran 20 Year single malt initially aged in bourbon and sherry casks before being finished in Oloroso sherry butts from Bodegas Tradicion. A release of 9,000 bottles.

Brodick Bay is the first in Arran’s limited-edition Explorer’s Series – a range carefully crafted to reflect and celebrate the Isle of Arran’s incredible natural beauty. Situated on the Isle of Arran, Arran Distillery was founded in 1994 by Harold Currie, the former director at Chivas Distillery, and is one of the last remaining independent distilleries in Scotland.

When the distillery was finally completed in 1995 construction was halted for nearly a year when a pair of Golden Eagles built their nest near the distillery it became the first legal distillery on the Isle of Arran in over 150 years.

NOSE:

Immediate notes of creamy toffee emerge, with the fresh fruity citrus notes of Arran also very evident. The promise of something memorable.

PALATE:

Starts with an intense sweetness that coats the tongue as the creamy toffee develops into a treacle laced fudge. Dark chocolate raisins and honey give this dram a delicious depth that stays long on the palate. With time or a drop of water, this dram opens up beautifully and shows another side with soft oak and hints of pink pepper.
