Hooker’s House Epicenter Whiskeys are a tribute to General Joseph Hooker and his over-indulging, outrageous lifestyle. Although his military practices are often questioned, his love of whiskey and women cannot be. His Army reputation as a “ladies’ man” began early in his career and he was referred to as the “Handsome Captain”.

The general kept morale high among his troops by inviting a posse of ladies to fraternize with the gents. At first, the women became known as “Hooker’s brigade” or “Hooker’s girls” and later became just plain “Hookers”.

The whiskey has intense aromas of peaches, cinnamon and shaved almonds. Which lead to a full body marked by notes of whipped cream, pie crust, pepper and and caramel. The finish, bold and smooth, has notes of cornbread and strawberry jam.

Epicenter is made from a bourbon mash that was slated for a high-rye bourbon before being vigorously shaken by a magnitude 6.0 earthquake. These were then separated from other barrels. Finished with French oak staves and released as a single-barrel, cask strength whiskey at 56% ABV. A bottle costs roughly $45.
