A straight whiskey sourced from Tennessee. Heaven’s Door Straight Bourbon Tennessee Bourbon is an interesting release and a bit of a mystery. It carries a 70% Corn mash bill, which eliminates the usual culprit of George Dickel. A unique mash bill from Tennessee, our Bourbon utilizes 30% “small grains” to complement. The character imparted from spending nearly 7 years in American oak barrels. The result is smooth and lasting with notes of vanilla and baked bread layered over a bed of toasted oak. There’s a lot to enjoy with this easy-sipper. Heaven’s Door Straight Bourbon sweet palate gracefully transforms into a more toasted and spicy affair that nicely presents a contrasting tasting experience. In addition, despite being 90 proof, the whiskey has good intensity and its flavors are well presented before it ramps up the heat during its finish.

Nose:

Rich aged oak immediately greets you. Taking a deep inhale reveals scents of light hints of baked cinnamon, vanilla, butterscotch, and peanuts lying in wait. The main focus though is the oakiness, which clearly dominates the nose and helps usher in a very nicely balanced opening to the sip.
