Thrasher’s Green Spiced Rum
Thrasher’s Green Spiced rum, a version of the base used in their White Rum that’s distilled with a gin basket containing mint, lemongrass, lemon verbena, lemon balm, lime peel, and green cardamom and bottled unaged at 80 proof.
Our flagship and the first of its kind – Thrasher’s Green Spiced Rum is a botanical-based blend made to impart flavors reminiscent of English gin. We developed the recipe through experimentation, using herbs grown in our own rooftop garden.
They include Lemon Verbena, Lemongrass, Lemon Balm, Mint, Green Cardamom, and Lime Peels. This light, distinctive spirit is herbaceous, floral, and vibrant with hints of green citrus. It’s a mixing spirit; intended to enhance cocktails like Thrasher’s signature Rum & Tonic. It also works perfectly for a Mojito or Jungle Bird.
Think of this unusual newcomer as a mix between spiced rum and gin, with the usual spice additions mostly replaced by citrusy and herbaceous flavors. Veteran bartender Todd Thrasher uses botanicals grown in his own backyard, including lemon verbena, lemongrass, and mint.
The aroma is malty and brisk, with a hint of dill, while the palate is slightly sweet, with a mouthwatering citrusy tartness and a hint of coconut that winds into the complex finish laced with ginger and cardamom.
Light citrus zest with vanilla backbone. After a bit of time in the glass, funk and smoke linger. The rum has a soft, subtle heat with coating mouthfeel, finishing round and soft. Notes of butterscotch and orange peel are present at the end. This is the perfect rum for a traditional Daiquiri.
