San Leonardo is the magical heir to a tradition known the world over as Bordeaux blending. Dreams and heritage mingle to bring you a wine that conveys all its land-rooted character and genuine territory-focused appeal.
Tenuta San Leonardo is the magical result of a tradition that is called “Bordeaux cutting” throughout the world. It is symbiotic of dream and tradition, to enjoy a wine that can convey the character and fascination of the identity of the territory. It is made from 20-50 years old Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Merlot vines.
A powerful yet elegant red, San Leonardo brings together the colors, aromas, and savors of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenère, and Merlot aged in small oak barrels, melding them harmoniously into a uniquely intense, full-bodied wine with superb depth of flavor.
Juniper and sage notes are an aromatic entry point to this polished, medium- to full-bodied red, which effortlessly folds sculpted tannins with flavors of currant, smoky espresso, iron, and spice box.
Intense ruby red color with garnet highlights. A wine of remarkable intensity on the nose, which layers bell peppers and wild berries over a background note of vanilla. The palate is full, warm, and impressively rounded, with intense aromatics that linger on the palate.
A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc and 15% Merlot that matures in barriques for 18 months. The color is a very intense and lively ruby while the intense and elegant bouquet is balsamic and spicy with an impressive assortment of aromas with notes of mint, blueberry, pine resin, and a tad of vanilla. The saline and the persistent mouthfeel are very elegant with refined tannins and an agile and aristocratic body.
