Maker’s Mark Bourbon 101 Proof Limited Release
Maker’s Mark Bourbon 101 is a Kentucky straight bourbon which had previously only been available to select visitors of the Loretto based distillery to sample. Then this was the brand’s first exclusive global travel retail bottling. Maybe that didn’t work out so well in 2020. Now this exclusive, higher proof Maker’s Mark is available as a limited release, during the Holidays!

Maker’s Mark maintain that they distil their bourbon to the lowest proof of any US whiskey distillery. This proffers a bourbon that retains a rich flavour. Developed by Bill Samuels Sr, he replaced rye with red winter wheat to reduce the burning sensation from the whiskey.
It’s not very often Maker’s Mark Bourbon releases a new expression, so it’s pretty big news when they do. A few years ago, Maker’s put out a 101 proof version of their beloved bourbon on the travel retail market, and it seemed popular enough. Now, for a limited time, Maker’s Mark fans can find this 101 proof bourbon on their store shelves. That’s certainly a reason to jump for joy.
Fruity and rich. There are lovely notes of spiced honey and mixed peels, a little malmsey, hazelnut and a touch of cut fruit with toasty oak providing a backbone.
Rich and full. There are notes of rye and spice, barley malt, a little nut oil with butterscotch and vanilla.
Quite sweet with butterscotch and dry oak spice.
