Glen Grant 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky by Gordon & MacPhail
Since 1895, Gordon & MacPhail has worked with the majority of Scotland’s distilleries and today matures, selects and bottles some of the world’s finest and rarest Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. The Glen Grant 10 Year old Distillery was the first of five stills established in the town of Rothes. Built by brothers John and James Grant in 1840. Today, Glen Grant is one of the world’s biggest selling Malt Whiskies. Very reliable quality Speyside from a distillery founded in 1840. Glen Grant is one of the world’s best-selling single malts and is particularly popular in Italy.
A great beginner’s whisky right here from the Glen Grant Distillery, produced in tall pot stills. This 10 year old Speyside single malt, having spent a decade in bourbon casks, boasts oodles of light, malty notes. A top dram for warmer weather.
This is an everyday scotch. Here at W+A throughout our journey we have matured our palates and raised our tolerance. So whenever we get a chance to taste something light and refreshing it stands out. The Glen Grant 10 Year is just that. A tame (in the best way) and smooth experience that I would include in any “starter kit” for scotch whisky. Young and not too complex, but still very flavorful. Nice indeed.
Glen Grant 10 Year old is known for its light character. Younger expressions from the distillery are highly popular in Italy. Whisky is fruity and floral, just like you can expect from a typical Speyside Whisky. Light color and light body is also noticable.
Orange and lemon zest, vanilla cream and toffee.
Oily, with fudge and cream chased by orange, lemon, honeysuckle and sweet apple.
Freshly crushed grain, soft apple and a hint of peach.
Famously, Glen Grant produce ‘the lightest spirit in Scotland’, and while this is a gentle dram it’s got a richness to its mouthfeel that you might not expect. A great warm-weather sipper.
