The Del Dotto 2018 Cave Blend is Cabernet Sauvignon driven and includes a compilation of press juice from all our Estate Cabernet vineyards, Pope Valley Cabernet a Sassicaia clone, vineyards in Rutherford, young vine from our new vineyards in Oakville behind Piazza and Cabernet Franc from St. Helena area.

71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Sangiovese, 1% Zinfandel, 1% Petit Verdot. The Cave Blend is always one of our most approachable and attractive wines.

The sophistication of the Cabernet Sauvignon, bright red fruit from the Merlot, and luscious fruit and spice from the Sangiovese, Zinfandel and Petit Verdot. This is a wine you can enjoy every day with everything from pasta and red sauce to barbequed brisket.

A perennial favorite from Del Dotto, the Cave Blend is fruit-forward on the nose, with blackberry and plum just kissed by oak. On the broad, silken palate, Merlot’s red berries brighten the Cabernet Sauvignon while touches of Sangiovese, Zinfandel and Petit Verdot bring even more luscious fruit and spice. Our Del Dotto 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet is a great example of a quintessential Napa Valley Cabernet at a great price point. The bouquet is rich and dense, exuding dark chocolate, currants with hints of vanilla and caramel on the finish. The lush mid-palate shows spicy notes with good minerality. This medium-bodied wine can be enjoyed now and for the next ten years.

The nose is very fruit forward with blackberry, and ripe plum. There is a sweet kiss of oak, vanilla bean and nutmeg spice. The mouthfeel is very broad and attractive, floating across the palate with pure silkiness. The Cave blend is very dynamic as it gains a lot of attributes from different varietals.
