This silver tequila is made with 100% Blue Weber agaves which have been roasted with mesquite for around 7 days in underground stone pits. After roasting, the agaves are crushed with a volcanic stone tahona. The fibers and cooked agave juice are then transferred to pine wood vats to ferment. It is then distilled and bottled at 101 proof.

Gran Patrón Smoky will hit select markets later this month and begin a wider distribution early next year. The agave used to make the tequila is roasted with mesquite for seven days in underground stone pits, versus the above-ground clay brick ovens where most agave is roasted.
