A 5-year-old Panamanian rum from Ron Abuelo Anejo Reserva. It is made at Varela-Hermanos, which is a third-generation family distillery that grows its own sugar cane and ages its rum in white oak barrels.
Ron Abuelo Anejo Reserva is distilled from fermented molasses at the family-owned Varela Hermanos distillery in Panama. Aged in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels for a reported minimum of 5 years.
Bright golden amber color. Aromas caramel buttercream, toffee, and dried tropical citrus follow through on a soft, satiny entry to dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body with smoothness and elegant depth. Finishes with a long, leather, cherry, spicy pepper jelly and cocoa accented fade. Brilliant.
The Ron Abuelo Anejo Reserva Especial is the youngest Ron Abuelo rum from Panama. A 3 years old rum matured in American white oak casks. In 2012 awarded with the best ‘Golden Rum’ award at the Dutch Rum Awards in Haarlem.
A 12-year-old dark rum from Ron Abuelo of Panama. The age their rum in whiskey barrels, which adds a distinct vanilla sweetness. This 12-year-old was launched in 2009 and is elegant, slightly smoky, and rich. It was awarded a Gold at the 2009 Ministry of Rum Tasting Competition.
