One of Ireland’s finest whiskeys, Tullamore Dew was first distilled in 1829 in the small town of Tullamore in County Offaly in the heart of Ireland. The name derives from the initials of an early owner, Daniel E Williams – DEW. Tripled distilled Tullamore D.E.W. is a favorite among Irish whiskeys for its distinctive, accessible taste, enjoyed on its own, over ice or with a little water. Connoisseurs describe Tullamore D.E.W. as “Subtle, smooth and with a pleasant maltiness combined with charred wood undertones and the natural flavor of golden barley.”
NOSE : Early spice followed by red wine while a nice nuttiness follows before a light woody note brought on from 12 years spent in oak casks.
TASTE : A deep spice flavor with a robust yet creamy body cloaked in a definite chocolaty note. Dried fruits and nut accompany the chocolate, giving a veritable praline note in the taste.
FINISH : The finish is long and rich with some citrus, chocolate, raisins and marzipan all lingering.
