Highland Park fire edition is a special release of 15-year-old single malt which has been matured in 100% refill port wine seasoned casks a first for highland park. This follows on from the release of the ice edition and completes. The two-part series of special edition bottlings celebrate some of the myths and legends emerging from the Viking age.

This 15-year-old has been encased in specially commissioned crimson glass. As an ode to the battle of fire and ice that birthed Ragnarok – the new world.

Entirely matured in refill Port seasoned casks a first for Highland Park the result is a vibrant single malt with the natural hue of glowing flames. Damsons, cinnamon, dried fruit, and chocolate dance on the tongue, before sizzling to an intense fruity finish, we call it a ‘Scorched Eclair’.

Fire is the follow-up to Ice and is the second in Highland Park’s series celebrating Viking legends. Aged entirely in refill port casks, this is lightly smoky with notes of dried citrus peel, vanilla, and fruity spiciness.

Natural in color, the vibrant and intense aromas of ruby red fruits and warm vanilla complement the fiery bitter sweetness of cinnamon bark and the richness of devilishly dark chocolate.

Completing this two-part series, which also included Highland Park Ice Edition, is the Highland Park Fire Edition! Celebrating Muspelheim, the glowing Norse fire realm of destruction, this 15-year-old single malt was matured in refill Port casks before being bottled at 45.2% abv. It’s presented in a cradle shaped like a mountain.

Nose:

This doesn’t shout at you, instead, the smoke is discreetly backed up with some tasteful saline and red cherry notes.

Palate:

All about elegance, some delicate wood smoke with fresh orange fruity notes and some caramel.

Finish:

Long and gently smoky.
