Woody Creek Bourbon Whiskey 750ml

Our latest addition to the Woody Creek Bourbon Whiskey family of spirits has been years in the making. Our much-anticipated Colorado Bourbon, aged a minimum of four years in deeply charred new American oak, has just enough spice to get your attention, with hints of cinnamon, caramel, and honey in the background. Settle in to its complex personality and satisfyingly long finish, and you’ll agree that it was certainly worth the wait.

Made from a mashbill of 100% rye (sourced in Colorado) this rye is produced in the mountain town of Basalt. A grain-to-bottle distiller, this is distilled in their custom-built Carl stills and aged a minimum of two years in new white American oak. In addition to their rye, they also produce a couple of vodkas and a gin.

Woody Creek Bourbon Whiskey has been quietly building stocks of Colorado whiskey over the last few years. Their bourbon is a mash of 70% Colorado grown corn and local rye and malted barley make up the other 30%.

A Colorado straight bourbon made from Rocky Mountain spring water, locally sourced 70% Colorado corn and a blend of local rye and malted barley. Aged for at least four years in deeply charred new American oak casks.

Their hard work paid off when their vodka won Best in Class at the 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Of course, when you make that kind of entry to the fray, you’ve got a lot of pressure for your next entree. Taking what they learned from their vodka process, Woody Creek hit the ground running with their Colorado Straight Rye Whiskey, which earned double gold at the 2016 World Spirits Competition.

Nose:

Aromas of dried caramel, funnel cake, leather, and nice oak barrel Spice.

Palate:

The palate brings on Snickerdoodle, mint, fresh dried corn and a creamy caramel.

Finish:

Lingering.
