The 2016 Les Fiefs de Lagrange has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and a nose of warm red and black currants, earth, and minerals with a waft of roses. The palate is medium-bodied and plush with plenty of juicy fruit and an earthy finish.
Dark and purple color, it has a very intense bouquet, with pure black cherry, crème de cassis, and crushed violets. The palate has crisp acidity, quite tensile in the mouth, and lively. One of the best succeed of Les Fiefs de Lagrange ever, vibrant wine is well balanced.
An open-knit style, with bright anise and açai notes out front, backed by cassis and crushed cherry fruit flavors. Shows a dusting of vanilla on the finish.
The second wine of Château Lagrange has firm tannins and an elegant, ripe structure. The tannins and rich black-currant fruit are generously integrated, offering a rich wine that will develop well over the next few years.
The 2016 Les Fiefs de Lagrange is an absolute joy. Plaint and forward, with striking fruit density, 2016 delivers the goods. Sweet red cherry, blood orange, mint, and sweet tobacco add layers of nuance, but it is the wine’s depth and purity of fruit that stand out.
Probably the best-loved second wine in Bordeaux, this vintage suits Les Fiefs and brings out the juicy, Cabernet fruit of this successful St. Julian estate. Medium rich, bright, crimson color, soft and grapey on the attack, with good spice and flavors of black cherries, blackberry, and tobacco. There is the nice weight on the palate and good, round tannins.
