With an average age of 15 years, this family owned Cognac is a steal. Delicate orchard fruit and baking spices are apparent on the nose and palate. The finish is long with notes of bitter chocolate and dried fruit.

Cognac, most people either love it or are completely indifferent toward it. For years I fell into the category of the later but I have begun to come around and this Cognac was a major reason why. This is real Grand Champaign Cognac made by a producer who has been producing Cognac since 1610. Guillon Painturaud is only interested in making the finest cognacs that they can and not in marketing and fancy packaging. It is distilled on the lees giving it a fuller body and a more intense fruit flavor. It is then aged for about 5 years, well beyond the minimum required to be labeled as a VSOP.
