The 2016 Faust The Pact Cabernet Sauvignon The Pact is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged 19 months in 50% new French oak. Deep garnet-purple colored, it reveals bold red and black currants scents with touches of crushed rocks, new leather, fried herbs, rosehip tea, and wood smoke plus a hint of incense.
Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers and rock-solid structure of the firm, ripe, grainy tannins framing the muscular fruit, finishing very long and mineral-laced.
Alluring, with sage and menthol notes inlaid seamlessly into a core of polished fig, blackberry, and açaà berry reduction flavors. A smoldering tobacco hint emerges through the finish, adding cut and energy while leaving an old-school impression. Best from 2021 through 2030.
The Coombsville AVA is both the newest in Napa Valley and the furthest south. The region benefits from marine breezes coming off the nearby San Pablo Bay, as well as a long and cool growing season due to its location in the valley.
This extended ripening period gives The Pact its signature silkiness, unmistakable blue and black fruit and pronounced acidity.
Carefully selected from the premier blocks of the property that sit on an elevated bench with volcanic soils underneath, this Cabernet Sauvignon captures what makes the Coombsville AVA special.
Black cherry and black currant generously welcome the nose and reward the palate with a plush texture and fresh acidity.
Dark fruit and graphite, along with tobacco, cinnamon, star anise and dark cocoa flavors await you with a seductive finish that lasts for an eternity.
This Faust The Pact Cabernet wine exhibits attractive black fruit and anise in its aromas and flavors. Pair it with lightly-seasoned, grilled beef.
