Pineapple and rum, a match made in Tiki heaven. Created by the folks behind The Bitter Truth bitters range, Tiki Lovers Pineapple Rum takes its inspiration from way back when Caribbean distillers would macerate pineapples in sugar cane spirit, imparting a fruity dimension to their rum. This expression uses pineapples from South America, which are then pressed and infused into the rum. Speaking of which, the rum is a blend of aged & unaged Jamaican pot still rum from Hampden Estate and Worthy Park, alongside three year old Barbados rum from FoursquareThat’s aged in bourbon barrels, and finally some young column still rums from both Trinidad and Guyana.

Taking inspiration from the Caribbean tradition of macerating fresh pineapples in high-proof sugar cane spirit, Tiki Lovers Pineapple Rum has an intensely tropical character. Its recipe uses pineapple from South America to add a seriously fruity edge to a blend of un-aged pot-still Jamaican rum, three-year-old rum from Barbados, and column still rums from Trinidad and Guyana. Bold and funky, this has notes caramel, toffee, bananas and fruity pineapple on the palate.

Tiki Lovers Pineapple Rum is made by pressing pineapples sourced from South America and then removing some its water content. This concentrated pineapple juice is then added to a blend rums from the Caribbean. These include aged and unaged Jamaican pot still rums from Hampden Estate and Worthy Park; three-year-old Barbados rum from Foursquare; and young column still rums from Trinidad and Guyana. The end result is bottled at 45% ABV.

The pineapple aroma on this rum is intensely sweet, more akin to artificial candy than fresh fruit. On the palate, it has a creamy texture and the pineapple notes are less intensely bright but still artificial and a bit syrupy, in a way that overwhelms the palate.
