That Boutique-y Whisky Company Ardbeg 12 Year Scotch Whisky Batch #15 375 ML
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains, and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
One of the legendary Islay distilleries, Ardbeg holds a special place in the hearts of many whisky enthusiasts. A smoky, medicinal, slightly bacon-y place in their hearts, to be specific. Situated on the south coast of Islay, Ardbeg has been producing their distinctive style of single malt since 1815 using their glorious stills, which you can see on our Ardbeg labels! You can also see famous Ardbeg collector Geert Bero reaching up to the precious Spirit Purifier atop the still.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company is an independent bottler that offers stunning whiskies from world-renowned brands and distilleries. Each bottle has a bun and informative graphic-novel-style label containing humorous references, in-jokes, and shocking puns.
It all starts with the whisky. Once they know what they got, they’ve got to devise a witty and informative label to adorn the eventual bottling. That’s where Emily Chappell comes into the picture. Emily lives in Glasgow as a freelance artist/illustrator working on posters, maps, book jackets, murals, and, of course, whisky labels; working mainly with clients to produce artwork for the food, drink, and environmental sector.
With any release from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, it can be all too easy for the label to steal the limelight, and while the cartoon depiction of Ardbeg collector Geert Bero on this one is certainly charming it is the extraordinary 27-year-old smoky malt that should truly capture your focus.
A metallic smoke entry with digestive biscuits with pear drop sweets.
Warming spices fill the mouth before more of the smokiness comes through. There’s a pinch of pepper and tropical fruit juice.
The pepper lingers before more smokiness which lasts long after the final sip. Distillery Notes
