Shibui Pure Malt is a 100% malted barley whisky produced in Japan from both a Japanese malt whisky and a Scottish Lowlands malt whisky. It is matured in three types of barrels: ex-bourbon, oloroso sherry and mizunara oak casks.

This 100% malted barley world blend whisky is a marriage of whiskies from Niigata Japan & the lowlands of Scotland. Matured in Ex-Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry & rare Mizunara Oak, Shibui is 100% natural color. Notes of walnut, coffee & chocolate.

Nose:

Candied walnut, chocolate covered raisins and maple syrup, followed by soft, malty cereal notes.

Palate:

The palate those elements all come through – though perhaps not the dustiness! The mix of spice and sweetness is still there, but in the very subtle way that Shibui promises, and there are really pleasant hints of coffee and chocolate too.

Finish:

An elegant, long finish.
