Salvestrin Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 750ml
$174.98 $148.73
The 2013 Salvestrin Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from the estate vineyards and is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. This showed well.
It’s a 2013, but the blend, which was aged 22 months in French, American and Hungarian oak, is lusty, savory, hedonistic, rich and mouth-filling, with a dense purple color and not a hard edge in sight.
This blockbuster fruit bomb has complexity, richness and a savory intensity that has to be tasted to be believed. Kudos to the winery.
Despite low rainfall, excellent growing conditions occurred in 2013 yielding one of the finest Salvestin Estate Cabernets in recent years.
The nose shows layered aromas of black-berry preserves, cassis, and barrel spices. On the palate a rich texture and tremendous depth of ripe dark fruit flavors are unveiled.
Tannins are apparent yet integrated and build, to frame a finish that is long and ripe. While this is a powerful Cabernet it maintains traditional Salvestrin elegance and polish.
The 2013 Salvestrin Estate Cabernet Three D exemplifies Dr. Crane Vineyard as an optimal site for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. Having farmed this land for his entire life, proprietor Rich Salvestrin employs sustainable grape growing practices and stringent selection of only the top barrels of the vintage.
Made in honor of Rich and Shannon Salvestrin’s three daughters, the 2013 Three D displays a high intensity aroma of mocha, kir and freshly picked dark cherries. The dense palate of black plums and herbs de Provence resolves into a finish of silky, fine-grained tannins.
Subtle baking spice compliments the aromatic fruit concentration, resulting in a wine of brilliant depth, complexity and length.
