Rabbit Hole Boxergrail Straight Rye Whiskey
Rabbit Hole Boxergrail Straight is a Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey with a Mash Bill of 95% Rye and 5% Malted Barley. The name of this whiskey is in recognition and celebration of Louisvilles rich boxing history. As many know, one of the best boxers of all time, Muhammad Ali, was from Louisville, Kentucky. Rabbit Hole Boxergrail is bottled at 95 proof, comes with no age statement.
It’s a story as old as the universe: boy likes Scotch, boy meets girl, girls likes Bourbon, boy likes Bourbon, boy and girl start making booze. We’ve all been there, right? Meet Kaveh Zamanian and his sweetheart Heather. It’s a true story and the booze they’re making is Louisville-based Rabbit Hole. It’s all about passion, beauty, and elegance, and a simple mission: bring an extra renaissance to the Bourbon renaissance.
But what is Bourbon without its best buddy, Rye Whiskey? Kaveh’s Master Distiller, Larry Ebersold (formerly at Pernod-Ricard) concocted a perfect combination of rye (95%) and malted barley (5%) and created an outstanding Rabbit Hole Boxergrail Straight Rye Whiskey. It spent more than two years in #4 charred American white oak barrels (made by the Kelvin Cooperage), but don’t let its youth fool you. The palate is balanced, the nose alluring, and finish quite impressive. The generous 47.5% ABV is also always welcome.
Rich sweet caramel on the nose, followed by a subtle herbal quality.
Lightly sweet on the palate with bold baking spice on the front and custard in the finish.
Long and warm finish with spicy and herbal background.
