Peter Michael 2015 L’Esprit Des Pavots 750ml

A gorgeous second wine, the Peter Michael 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon L’Esprit des Pavots is succulent, racy, and inviting. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice, and new leather flesh out in this super-expressive, pliant red wine from Peter Michael.

Floral overtones add lift through to the finish. I would prefer to drink 2015 over the near and medium-term, as it is already quite expressive and delicious. The blend is 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Petit Verdot.

From younger vines and what could be considered the entry-level Bordeaux blend of the estate, the 2015 L’Esprit des Pavots is still a gorgeous, gorgeous wine. Blackcurrants, black cherries, tobacco leaf, and cedarwood characteristics, full-bodied richness, seamless, elegant, silky tannin, no hard edges, and a blockbuster finish make for a wine that’s better than most top wines.

Aromas of blackberries, currant bushes, and hints of balsamic. Full-bodied, layered and flavorful with lots of crushed stones and wet cement. Plums, too. Tight and focused. Chewy texture.

Blended of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 21% Merlot and 6% Petit Verdot, the 2015 L’Esprit des Pavots sports a deep garnet-purple color and gregarious nose that is opulent, plummy, spicy and open for business. The medium to full-bodied palate gives plenty of soft, juicy fruit with velvety, approachable tannins and a nice, long berry preserves-laced finish.

This Peter Michael 2015 earthy and tasty Cabernet blend goes down so easy that it’s hard to believe it’s so young. Ruby red in color and medium in body, the wine has aromas of blackberry, graphite, and olives.
