Patz & Hall Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2017 750ml
$82.98 $70.53
The 2017 offering is aromatic and floral, with notes of ripe pear, fennel bulb and dried peach. The palate of Patz & Hall Russian River has a richer mouthfeel with honey, green apple and clove-ginger notes. The fruit from Zio Tony Ranch gives the wine a solid mineral core and fresh acidity. The mouthfeel is rich, but not heavy. Mouthwateringly crisp and dry, the finish is filled with lingering lemon zest and aromatic spices.
Patz & Hall Russian River was founded in 1988 by Donald Patz, James Hall, Anne Moses and Heather Patz. Together, they have created one of California’s most highly regarded wineries, with a celebrated portfolio of single-vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.
For over 25 years, they have remained committed to handcrafting small-lot and single-vineyard wines, with an exclusive focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Produced using grapes from storied vineyards in the Napa Valley, Russian River Valley, Mendocino County, Sonoma Coast and Santa Lucia Highlands, these benchmark wines embody thei passionate approach to winemaking, and the diversity of world-class California winegrowing.
Look for sophisticated, vivid flavors of pear, apple, green summer melon, Muscat, lavender, mineral and toasted hazelnut. Seamlessly integrated French oak adds a hint of vanilla to the long, fresh finish.
TASTING NOTES:
Green apple and spicy pear aromas leap from the glass. Notes of Muscat and orange blossom waft around toasted hazelnut, clove, banana and fresh earth. Dense and mouth filling, the wine shows great acidic flow and a dynamic range of flavors. It’s complex without being heavy or tedious. Tangerine, dried apricot, chai tea and crème caramel dart and weave through the long finish.
