Kentucky- Amps up the front-of-the-palate flavors of Maker’s Mark. In other words, it’s Makers with a lot more Maker’s. But the higher alcohol content of our Cask Strength isn’t the story here – it’s the taste. More of the signature flavors of rich oak, vanilla, caramel, and spice.
Whisky Advocate 93 Points – This Is What I Wish The Standard Maker’s Mark Would Be: More Mature, Spicier, More Complex, And With A Richer Finish. Caramel Kissed With Honey Provides A Base For Marzipan, Cotton Candy, Cinnamon, Clove, And A Balancing Leather Dryness On The Finish.
Maker’s Mark Cask Strength is Maker’s Mark straight from the barrel uncut and unfiltered. With proof of approximately 108-114, Cask Strength retains the essence of original Maker’s Mark, with even more front-of-the-palate flavors. It just amplifies the taste that Maker’s Mark fans have come to love over the past 60 years.
The proof fluctuates with each bottle because of how the “angels’ share” of their whiskey changes based on the temperature outside the cask. This inefficient hands-on bottling and selling process Maker’s Mark uses provides a delicious result, one you can look forward to enjoying at your next special event.
While Cask Strength retains that same sweet aroma, full flavor, and warm finish as their original whiskey, it is a brand-new bourbon. Bottled at its highest proof, this bourbon has notes of a big oak, charcoal, and vanilla on the nose. On the palate, Cask Strength has flavors that are richer and more robust than traditional Maker’s Mark. The finish is long and has no rough or bitter flavor as it hangs on the front of the tongue.
