Macallan Triple Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky 18 Year Old
This 18 year old Macallan Triple Cask Whisky single malt sits at the peak of the Triple Cask range (which replaced the Fine Oak range in mid-2018). With maturation taking place in a combination of European sherry seasoned casks, American sherry seasoned casks and American ex-bourbon casks, this expression boasts bountiful notes of vanilla, dried fruit and woody spice.
Macallan Triple Cask Whisky distillery has been making Whisky-lovers happy since 1824 – that’s when America was at their fifth president – and since then, they have perfected their art. 200 years of know-how, savoir-faire, and inspiration, combined with fresh water source, secret specially cultured barley, and the smallest stills – it all results in some of the finest Whiskies.
Rich Straw color. Full aroma with hints of rose and cinnamon. Intense palate of rich chocolate, with hints of orange and raisins. Lingering finish, with chocolate, hints of orange and dried fruit.
The Macallan Triple Cask Matured 18 Year Old is a light amber colour. With aromas of exotic dried petals with coconut and vanilla orange citrus. It’s soft and velvety on the palate with orange citrus, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish lingers with chocolate orange and a hint of wood smoke.
This expression is undoubtedly among them. The Macallan Triple Caskrange (previously known as The Fine Oak) is created by the masters blending an intricate combination of different casks: European and American Sherry-seasoned oak and ex-Bourbon casks.What we get is a complex and rich harmony of various wood influences. Nose: Roasted chestnut, thick caramel, slightly floral at points, orange oil.
Palate: Fresh vanilla, dark chocolate, toasted coconut, ginger, mature oak.
Finish: Cassia, nutmeg, almond and toffee.
