Legent Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 750ml
A collaboration between two whiskey legends, Fred Noe of Jim Beam and Shinji Fukuyo of Suntory. Legent is a Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey finished in wine and sherry casks. Legent Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey transcends the broader whiskey category. It’s a perfectly balanced and rounded bourbon that’s also complex and layered. On your palate, it starts like a bourbon – rich, warm and oaky.
A collaboration between two unique styles of whiskey-making, Legent Bourbon is the creation of whisky legends Fred Noe, Jim Beam’s seventh-generation Master Distiller, and Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory’s fifth-ever Chief Blender. Finished in a combination of wine and sherry casks, Legent is made using a historic recipe from Fred Noe’s family and is matured for at least four years in virgin white oak barrels. It is then blended by Shinji Fukuyo to create layers of spices, dried fruit and tart red berries.
Bourbon starts with a mixture of grains called the mash bill. Fifty-one percent of the mix must be corn, and the rest must include other grains, such as rye, barley and wheat. The mash is mixed and cooked with water, then fermented, often using specific yeast cultures that help define a brand’s signature flavor.
Vital Stats: 94 proof (47% ABV). Kentucky Straight Bourbon partially finished in wine and sherry casks. Distillery bottling. The suggested retail is $35.99 for a 750 ml bottle.
