Foursquare Rum Distillery 2005 Single Blended Rum
Released in October 2017, this Bajan rum was distilled in 2005. Distilled at Foursquare Distillery in 2005, this is a blend of pot & column still rums. It aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon barrels and is bottled at a cask strength of 59% ABV. This is the 6th release in the Exceptional Cask Selection series.
A blend of rums from the artisanal pot distillation and traditional twin column continuous distillation of Foursquare, distilled in 2005 and aged for twelve years in ex-bourbon casks. Authentic rum, no sugar, or other flavor has been added.
Here is another ridiculous cask-strength rum from the wonderful Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados. This is drawn from 12-year-old rum aged in ex-bourbon and bottled at the full cask strength of 118 proof. The rum is a blend of two distillates, one from the pot stills and a lighter one from the column.
The resulting spirit is the perfect balance between the depth and texture of the heavy rums and the freshness and vibrancy of the column.
Unadulterated, unapologetic, and unparalleled, the Foursquare Rum Distillery 2005 and its opinionated owner Richard Seale have made a commitment to eschew additives of any kind, a quality few other rum producers can claim. The Exceptional Cask Selections continue to be some of the rarest and most sought-after rums in the world.
Vanilla, milk chocolate, and soft toffee provide a succulent opening which is joined by fizzing white pepper, with touches of ginger and nutmeg underneath.
Chocolate and vanilla emerge on the palate, with lemon peel and stone fruits in support. Lively oak and a touch of smoke linger below.
Pepper and ginger remain among a hint of lime zest.
