The 2016 Emblem Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a ripe and plummy wine with chocolate and hazelnut undertones. Medium to full body, round tannins and a flavorful finish. Well balanced, with a soft and layered mouth feel make this wine a simply delicious expression of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Able to age or ready to enjoy now.
The 2016 Emblem by Michael Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon has brought value back into the equation when it comes to top-level Napa Cabs. This wine drinks well now, and will improve for half-a-dozen years. Its aromas and flavors of focused black fruit and oak accents should pair beautifully with a well-marbled grilled ribeye.
2016 was another early year in Napa Valley with ideal weather conditions! No rains during flowering and crop was more plentiful than previous year. First rainstorm arrived October 14, 2016 so vineyards were able to progress to perfect ripeness.
The genesis of Emblem Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is in the Michael Mondavi Family Vineyards, nestled along the northeastern hillsides of Napa Valley high above St Helena. Farmed sustainably and organically, certified Napa Valley Green and Fish Friendly, the vineyards exemplify a generational commitment to responsible farming.
The 2016 Emblem Cabernet is a stunning cabernet for the price. Plucked from prized parcels high above St. Helena, it delivers the kind of value that Napa used to generate in abundance but hasn’t been able to offer due to such high demand. Of course, as always, the Mondavi Family is the exception to the rule.
