Darioush Cabernet Franc Signature Series
Darioush 2016 Cabernet Signature Franc exhibits a dense, yet the aromatic core of ripe black and blue fruits tangled with juicy plum, cassis, spice box and savory dried sage; a result of naturally reduced clusters per vine and a long, temperate growing season.
Earthbound elements of steeped black tea, cola, and anise persist on the palate adding intrigue, though it’s the cascading finish and ripe, fine, dusty tannin that nod at the cellar-worthiness of this Signature Cabernet Franc.
The unique terroir of our rocky, higher elevation Mount Veeder estate combines a cool marine-influenced climate with exceptional sun exposure to naturally develop the distinct and concentrated flavors of earth, spice and black fruits that are native to Cabernet Franc.
Opening with savory and lingering aromas of crushed boysenberries, blueberries and Kirsch accented by earthen notes of dry loam, lead pencil shavings, and cigar box.
Steeped black tea, anise and underbrush create for a savory interplay on the taut, medium to a full-bodied palate packed with black and blue fruits. Each sip is framed by firm, finely-grained tannins a lively backbone to support its great length, depth, and age-worthiness.
This Darioush 2016 Cabernet wine shows a fresh and vibrant nose with some elderberries, cherries, tobacco and sage. Medium to full body with firm tannins. A fresh structure and excellent drinkability. Drink or hold.
Dark and winey, with steeped black currant and fig fruit still curled up and waiting to expand, while notes of humus, tobacco, and singed savory flit around. Offers a long, smoldering finish. Big wine. Best from 2022 through 2032.
