Chivas Regal Mizunara Cask Scotch Whisky 750ml

Originally released for the Japanese market, this special edition of Chivas Regal Mizunara Cask blended Scotch whisky was inspired by a trip that Master Distiller Colin Scott took to Japan. Part of the blend was matured in Mizunara oak casks, which is rather rare in the whisky world but always intriguing.

Smooth oaky notes and fire roasted grains provide an interplay of strong and soft in the aromas. Impossibly silky on the palate, the cooked grain porridge flavors give way to charred coffee bean, burnt orange, and rich caramel for a dark and sweet finish.

Chivas Regal Mizunara Cask is a limited edition blended Scotch made with Japanese flair. Master Distiller Colin Scott was inspired to create this expression after a trip to Japan where he picked up a few whisky-making techniques. It’s made with a blend of Scottish grain and malt whiskies, each aged at least 12 years. Part of the blend is aged in casks made from Mizunara.

Nose:

White peach, toffee-coated pears and vanilla-rich cream. Subtly nutty.

Palate:

Floral and sweet, though hints of baking spices bring balance and body.

Finish:

Still packed with fruit, with a hint of aniseed hiding within.
