BenRiach The Smoky Ten 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Benriach The Smoky Ten is a peated single malt made with both unpeated and peated spirit, the latter smoked with Highland peat. It is aged in bourbon, Jamaican rum, and toasted virgin oak casks for at least 10 years and then married. Bottled with natural color at 46% ABV. This is one of four new core expressions crafted by master blender Rachel Barrie which launched in October 2020.
A fruity whisky that shows-off the darker, lesser-known side of Benriach’s whisky: peaty and smoky spirit. This ten-year old brings together bourbon and virgin-oak casks with Jamaican-rum casks, for a fruity, smoky and spicy dram.
The Smoky Ten from Benriach’s core range launched in 2020 shows off the distillery’s skill at working with peated malt. Master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie and her team created this expression using whisky matured in bourbon barrels, toasted virgin oak casks and Jamaican rum casks, building a delicious flavour profile of ripe fruit and creamy spices to support the peaty wafts at its core. Top post-dinner dram, this!
