Barr Hill Vodka by Caledonia Spirits 750 ML
Barr Hill Vodka is our tribute to the hardworking beekeepers. In late summer, we take delivery of hundreds of barrels of their pure raw honey. Their season’s work is what makes our vodka truly special. Our recipe depends on two simple principles: we never heat the honey prior to fermentation and we never distill more than twice. Our technique preserves the wild yeast and the rich aromatics of nectar delivering the floral depth of wildflower fields straight to your glass.
Barr Hill Vodka is crafted from honey at Caledonia Spirits’ micro-distillery on the banks of the Lamoille River in Caledonia Country of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Honey is carefully fermented in small batches, then gently distilled in our custom stills. The spirit which emerges reflects the essence of the soil and flowers visited by the bees.
Clear in color, this has faint, warm aromas of juicy orange and honey. The palate boasts flavors of vanilla and honey, along with notes of black pepper and vodka that finish a little hot. It s on the viscous side for vodka, and surprisingly bold too, although that s not a bad thing. The honeybee-imprinted bottle top is sealed with beeswax, natch. Distilled from raw honey.
This one’s pungent enough to come across like a flavored vodka, intense with that almost nougaty, caramel flavor. Barr Hill has far too much residual character in it for the most common places where vodka finds itself, but for fans of honey, this may make for an interesting sipper.
Notes of honey.
Hints of vanilla and pepper on the finish with a crisp texture.
