Barcelo Imperial 30 Aniversario Rum 750ml

Barcelo Imperial was founded in the city of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic back in 1929, launching the Ron Barcelo line in 1950. In 1980, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Ron Barcelo, Barcelo Imperial Premium Blend 30th Anniversary was released. This award-winning aged rum with its eye-catching bottle is one of the best Dominican rums out there today.

A blend of rums sets aside for additional maturation from the stocks used for Ron Barcelo Imperial over the last 30 years. Matured in a combination of white oak and ex-Bordeaux wine casks, this is rich with incredible complexity.

A bouquet of caramel with complex aromas of deep sugary oak roasts, coffee beans, sweet fresh tobacco, and notes of leather and spice. Sweet caramel flavor in the forefront leading to flavors that are identical to the aroma. Leaving a sweet, honey oak finish. Enjoy!

The rums that make up this distinct blend are double-aged in American white oak and French oak barrels, which each undergo different levels of toasting. The American oak brings vanilla and spices to the rum while the French oak provides more subtlety. Not any rum can go into this blend, rather only the finest specimens of the already grand Barceló Imperial.

The complex spirit that is the result of all of this work and expertise is nothing less than luxurious. It is packed with flavor and aroma that comes across in waves to please the senses with all that an expertly-aged rum can offer. Many different facets of fruit, oak, vanilla, and caramel are hidden within this amber-colored masterpiece.

Nose:

Fresh, buttery, and creamy on the nose, with hints of sweet nuts, caramelized fruit, and oak.

Palate:

Dark brown sugar, toffee apples, stewed fruits, malmsey, oak, and spices.

Finish:

Long, good length and texture with hints of cedarwood and cigar leaves.
