Balvenie Single Barrel Single Malt Scotch Whisky 15 year old is a celebration of the unique and mysterious interaction between oak, spirit, and time. This exceptional whisky is matured exclusively in a European oak sherry butt for at least 15 years. And while each cask is subtly different—Malt Master David Stewart hand selects each barrel for its flavor of dried fruits, nuts, and spice. No more than 650 hand-numbered bottles are drawn from each sherry butt, making every bottling unique and unrepeatable. The Balvenie 15-Year-Old Single Barrel is bottled at a higher strength of 47.8% ABV.
Balvenie hasn’t often released fully sherry matured whisky and we’re very pleased to welcome the 15yo Single Barrel Sherry Cask to the range. Each bottle is part of a batch of only a few hundred, each filled from a single cask. Every batch will vary a little, but all will show off the great combination of Balvenie’s spirit and rich sherry oak.
 Dense Christmas cake with icing, full of sticky, syrupy dried fruits, cherries, finely chopped nuts and grated nutmeg. Flamed orange peel, ginger, a hint of struck match (but only very subtle in the sample we tasted), fresh orange segments and plums develop.
Big old fashioned Sherry matured character, more bread-like fruitcake, malt loaf and nutty Oloroso. Slightly bitter and rum-like, superb.

Balvenie Single Barrel Single Malt Scotch Whisky 15 year old – Fragrant aroma of vanilla honeyed sweetness, hints of heather and dry oaky notes. Rich and complex taste, suggestive of years of careful ageing, it has a honeyed maltiness with vanilla oak flavours, and hints of spicy peat notes. It has a long and complex finish with a touch of liquorice.
