Bacardi Cuatro Anejo Rum 4 Year Old 750ml

Bacardi Cuatro Anejo is best known for its white rum, but it does do some excellent aged products. This 4-year-old is a brand new addition to the line-up and sits between the Carta Oro rum, which is primarily for mixing, and the 8 Year Old, which is more of a sipper. The result is effortlessly smooth, honeyed, and spicy.

A four-year-old golden rum that’s inspired by Bacardi founder Don Facundo’s original recipe. Anejo Cuatro is a vibrant spirit with notes of honey, vanilla, and oak spices, as well as a smooth palate that’s rounded out by the inclusion of some five- and six-year-old rums.

Bacardi Anejo Cuatro is aged for a full four years under the Caribbean sun, with notes of mild vanilla, toasted oak, clove, and honey. The perfect Rum to enhance your classic cocktail.

At four years old it’s still a little rough around the edges, showing a little petrol on the nose along with a grassy, somewhat weedy character. The petrol flows through to the palate, though here it also finds notes of flambeed banana, a little cinnamon, and some cocoa powder notes. The finish is fairly fruity, with lingering heat, though it ultimately works (much) better as a mixer than as a straight sipper.

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber. (SRM: 10)

Aroma:

Vanilla fudge, toffee, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and faint (attractive) notes of Bacardi’s signature blue cheese and mushroom soup.

Taste:

Initial slight vanilla and dark honey sweetness quickly dry with toffee, toasty oak, clove, and cracked black pepper spice.

Aftertaste:

Relatively dry caramel, toffee, vanilla, and light spice.
